The Lawnmowers Independent Theatre Company is a registered charity based in Gateshead and a National Portfolio Organisation that specialises in the provision of arts based services for people with learning difficulties. Lawnmowers is an exciting and dynamic organisation that uses the arts to promote a just and equal society. Lawnmowers, through its core member artists, all of whom have learning difficulties, research, explore and develop new ways of creating and using drama, theatre, music and dance within their own culture and beyond. The Company supports an environment where people with learning difficulties engage with the arts to help develop their ideas and determine their own futures.
We require an experienced Finance Administrator to run the Company’s day-to-day financial function and to help develop systems to improve efficiency.
The post is funded until June 2018. The successful applicant will be qualified to at least AAT level 3 or equivalent or have the appropriate level of experience and a proven track record of working in a similar role, preferably within the voluntary or charitable sector. You will report to the Lawnmowers Operations Manager and will be responsible for maintaining the company’s day-to-day financial systems and procedures, reconciling financial income and expenditure to trial balance stage and presenting it to auditors/accountants on a turnover in the region of £350-500K p.a..
